Brock’s Premier Event – The Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival. Here in the Township of Brock, we celebrate springs arrival with the Annual Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival! The 29th Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival in the heart of Sunderland with an outdoor vendors markets, live entertainment and demonstrations, farm tours, book sales, delicious food and of course Maple Syrup.

April 11 & 12, 9:00a.m.-4:00p.m.

The Easter Bunny never misses Brock – Hosted by the Cannington Lions Club, the annual Easter Egg Hunt happens on April 4th in Macleod Park, Cannington. Fun for families and kids from 1-12.

Celebrate Spring with Brock’s Horticultural Societies – Spring in Brock comes alive through the vibrant work of our three local horticultural groups — the Cannington Horticultural Society, the Beaverton Horticultural Society  and the Georgina‑Brock Garden Club. Each society brings gardeners together to learn, grow, and beautify our community as the season unfolds.

Quilt Show, Tea and Sale – Spring in Brock is made even brighter by the creativity and community spirit of the East Lake Simcoe Quilters Guild. This small but passionate guild, known for its heartfelt outreach and beautiful handcrafted quilts, brings its artistry to the community each spring through its annual quilt show. A long running Music tradition in Sunderland – Each spring, the Sunderland Lions Music Festival fills the community with the sounds of young talent, marking one of Brock’s most cherished seasonal traditions. This long‑running festival showcases the skills, passion, and growth of musicians from across Brock and surrounding regions, offering performances in piano, vocal, instrumental, and band categories.

Watch a play by the Beaverton Town Hall Players – Running from May 1-10 BTHP presents Jessica’s Fine Adventure, a comedy by Robert More that will leave you laughing all the way home. Jessica decides it’s time to get back in the social scene, and much to her son’s dismay, uses letter writing and newspaper ads to attract would be suitors.

Paddle – Paddle, kayak or canoe down the Beaver River to see the spring wildlife excitement from a new perspective. Don’t miss your chance to paddle the Beaver with the Great Canoe-O-Thon fundraiser hosted by the Cannington Lions Club. This annual event happens on May 2nd, 2026 with boats launching at Troutwater Park located on Hwy #7 East of Sunderland anytime between 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and finishes in MacLeod Park in Cannington.

Cycle, walk, or run through Brock’s nature’s bounty – Whether you prefer pavement, off-road or walking trails there are tons of beautiful trails to explore this spring.

The Township of Brock boasts an abundance of natural beauty waiting to be explored. Lace up your hiking boots and embark on a journey through the scenic Beaver River Wetlands Trail that winds its way along the 500-hectare wilderness oasis located between Uxbridge and Cannington/Manilla. This trail features one of the largest intact wetland complexes in the Lake Simcoe Watershed. Bring the whole family and walk, hike or cycle 34 km of accessible, smooth limestone trail.

Birding in Brock – A highlight of the Beaver River Trail is the abundance of wildlife. Migrant birds stop here every spring and fall and frogs and turtles soak up the spring sun on the shores of the river. You may even see a beaver or two.

Taste the Flavours of Brock – Spring is also an excellent time to explore Brock’s growing food scene. The Township is known for its farm‑fresh flavours, cozy cafés, and diverse local eateries.

Trilliums – Keep your eyes open for white trilliums, the official flower of Ontario. Trilliums were selected to honour those who served Canada in the First World War and you can see the flowers everywhere.
