Hit the Trails
Cross country ski, Snowshoe, and Fat-bike through some great multi-use trails in Brock Township. Beaver River Wetlands Conservation Area, Trans Canada Trail, and various recreational and accessible trails are great areas for people of all skill levels to enjoy.
After you hike head into Sunderland and grab a bite to eat at the Roadside Country Diner or warm up with a hot chocolate at the River Street Cafe
Downhill Skiing
Brock is 30 min north of two great downhill ski hills. Ski Lakeridge and Dagmar Resort.
Skating
Indoor skating rinks are available at the Rick MacLeish Memorial Community Centre and Foster Hewitt Memorial Community Centre
Snowmobile
Brock Township is located in OFSC District 4 and The Heart of Ontario Snowmobile Clubhouse is located on Laidlaw St. S. Cannington -Brock Township right next to the Rail Line Trail with ample parking and is a great place to meet up. Lake Simcoe can be an exhilarating ride for snowmobilers, but ice conditions can be very inconsistent. Make sure you know ice thickness always have safety gear with you. Never go out alone.
Ice Fishing
Lake Simcoe can be an ice fisherman’s dream when the conditions are just right. Yellow Perch, Lake Troup, Whitefish and Northern Pike are most common catches. Rent a hut from Tim Hales Fish Huts, Floyd Hales Fish Huts or Mitchell’s Fish Huts in Beaverton – Brock Township. Make sure to stop at the Beaver River Bait and Tackle located down at the Beaverton Harbour.
After a long, chilly day out on Lake Simcoe warm up with a hearty dinner in Beaverton. The Tar’d and Feather’d and Stefano’s Bistro are local favourates.
Bird Watching
A well-known bird watching spot in Brock is the Beaver River Wetland Trail where migratory birds stop in the spring and fall

Fair Havens invites you to participate in our Winter Family Day Festival this February 16th. Enjoy a day of outdoor recreational activities across our 130 acre Outdoor Classroom! Choose your own adventure from self-serve stations like kick-sleds and snow painting to outdoor educator guided programs like snowshoe rentals, cross-country skiing lessons, high ropes and archery. Tickets are $15/person (children under age 5 are free)
